Our speaker on Wednesday evening April 16th will be Lee Drummond. The title of her talk will be “A Quaker Animism and a Heathen Relational Cosmology”
The meeting starts at 7.00 p.m. UK time and the Zoom will be opened at 6.45 p.m. If you have not yet registered to receive the joining instructions for these meetings please email contact@qug.org.uk.
You may wish to prepare for the talk by reading and following up this introduction by Lee:
I don’t plan to spend the whole talk explaining basic modern Heathenry, so in the spirit of it being nicknamed “the religion with homework”, if people want to acquaint themselves with basic Heathenry aspects I recommend Asatru UK and The Troth websites. I’d also strongly recommend the Nordic Animism channel, particularly Rune’s Ted talk and many of his excellent YouTube videos especially about relational cosmology. I’m very indebted to Rune’s academic work and some of his videos will give a very good introduction to where I’ll be going with regards to my own musings on the whole heathen – animist – landscape. I’ve also included Ingwine’s website that is certainly valuable from a reconstructionist perspective, which even though I’ve personally gone my separate ways with regards to them their website explains some heathen aspects very well and is an important alternative voice to the louder Norse approach to Heathenry.
