Our Annual Conference in 2013 was held from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th April at the Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre. Over 50 people attended and we enjoyed listening to four fascinating talks on ‘Science and the Spiritual’:
Isabel Clarke, a Consultant Psychologist working in the NHS, spoke on Understanding spirituality from a psychological perspective.
Chris Isham, Emeritus Professor of Theoretical Physics at Imperial College, London, spoke on Quantum Physics and the Concept of Reality.
George Bright, an internationally renowned Jungian analyst, spoke on The Collective Unconscious and its relation to spirituality and spiritual experience.
Chris Clarke, former Professor of Applied Mathematics at Southampton University, spoke on What physics tells us about Consciousness and what this implies for spirituality and spiritual experience.
Full details of these talks were published in the June 2013 edition of Universalist.
We also enjoyed meetings for worship, epilogues, circle dancing, our ‘base groups’, the QUG AGM, a panel discussion, lots of conversation – and, of course the wonderful hospitality and food at Woodbrooke!
